Lilja likes a fluted barrel with most barrel contours. A fluted barrel has scallops cut along most of the length of the outside of the barrel and removes a pound of steel from an average barrel. That weight can be saved or added to another part of the rifle. The larger surface area of a fluted barrel also dissipates heat faster.

Jan 12, 2020 Does anyone have a Lilja? 440 bucks or thereabouts is alot of coin for a rimfire barrel. Is it worth it? My CZ 452s put the 455 to shame accuracy

I recently surveyed the top 100 shooters in the Precision Rifle Series (PRS), and this post reviews the barrels those elite shooters were using in 2015. My first 2 custom barrels were Lilja (7MM STW, and 6-284) based on Neil Jones recommendation as that is pretty much all he works with. They both shot lites out, cleaned nicely and I had total confidence in them, I just took posession of my first Krieger based on my shooting partners success with his, but have yet to shoot/break it in as we are in heavy winter still. Hand-lapped button rifled barrels. Lilja’s 3-groove 6BR barrels are very accurate and clean fast.

The gas port had a burr protruding in the bore and there was surface rust in the extension and on the outside of the barrel. The owner gave me a really hard time, claiming this was "normal" from storage and that the burr would go away after shooting (I couldn't get it with a bore brush). How's Accuracy? I'm looking to buy Sporter 17M2 barrel, and a Heavy .22lr Barrel very soon. 2014-02-14 · WhistlePig’s barrels all feature 4140 stainless steel barrel liners with Benz .22LR chambers sleeved with 6061 T-6 aluminum, which both reduces weight and increases overall barrel stiffness. This design delivers a barrel up to 70 percent lighter and a rifle which is up to 50 percent lighter than comparable bull barrel, 100 percent steel barrel rifles.

Lilja barrels are good. However, the top five barrel makers in the U.S. all have great barrels and you could get a world record holder from any of them in a given barrel. They are all air-gauged to about the same specification unless you order something special and they all shoot. My new Lilja barrel from Hoodoo got its maiden voyage today too. The rifle is a CZ 455 Tacticool with a Weaver T36 scope. All shooting was at 50 yds., temp. ~50 deg.
